NJ GRIT Field Hockey Club
NJ GRIT is a USAFH sanctioned Field Hockey club team that was created in the summer of 2020, where the West Essex Field Hockey team calls its turf home. Our NJ GRIT players are a combination of some of the very best field hockey athletes in New Jersey who together create an immensely strong club team, and an even more powerful family.
NJ GRIT club will offer athletes and parents many opportunities to improve and develop their game of field hockey, through National recruiting tournaments, local tournaments and clinic and skill offerings.
To be excellent at anything - you must work and be willing to get as many “touches” on the ball that you can. We want your daughters to have fun, develop their skills and team play, and fall in love with the game.
Jill Cosse has always loved coaching kids who possess that something extra, and finding ways to pull it out over their careers playing
with her. GRIT is that inner strength, fight and passion that has no measurement to it until the moment is called upon you. It’s an x factor, that opponents can’t anticipate, that is made over years of being tough and resilient. When that single moment beckons - you must choose a path - step into greatness or stand and do nothing . . . let’s choose greatness.
Jill wants our girls to know that reward on the playing field, and in life, only comes with fight and sacrifice, and the hard way is usually the best way. She wanted the club name to represent the strong women who are the role models of work ethic, honor and grit.
NJ GRIT stands for the following 4 traits we want to encourage; G - Grace, R - Resilience, I - Integrity, and T - Teamwork. We look forward to many years ahead with all of you.
